Comments
The last considerable sum spent by the Crown on the walls of Beaumaris was in the year 1540.(fn. Min. Acc. (Anglesea), 30-1 Henry VIII., No. 239) A roll of fourteen membranes, now wanting, detailed the particulars of the work done. Out of a total amount of £41. 6s. 9d., one Robert Burghill, who superintended the walling operations for a whole year, took £10. (Lewis)
