King John's regnal years were reckoned from Ascension Day, the moveable feast on which he was crowned. 16 John-8 May 1214-27 May 1215 (see
http://www.medievalgenealogy.org.uk/cal/medcal.shtml). Hardy dates this 1215 and the itinerary makes clear this is the correct date.
