Pardon to the king's lieges of the town of Newcastle on Tyne of all sums from the tenths and fifteenths granted to the king by the commons of the realm in the fifth and seventh years, as they are much impoverished by captures of their ships and merchandise by the king's enemies of Scotland and others, the murage and fortification of the same, many watches there on the safe-keeping of the town and great mortality of themselves.
