Drogheda in Louth (Drogheda ex parte Urielis) was given a grant of murage dated 8/6/1319.

Grant to the mayor and burgesses of the town of Droghda in the parts of Uriel, in addition to the grant made to them, 13 July 10 Edward II, for the strengthening of the wall and turrets of their town, in consideration of their expenses in making such repairs and in executing other works between their said town on that side and the river, of a further sum of 300 marks to be received after the termination of the former grant, viz. 60 marks a year for five years out of the farm of their town. On the N side, in the grant of 1316/19, reference to additional works 'of new construction' may be an extension of the town wall, the strengthening of gates by the building of barbicans and/or the creation of additional mural towers along the wall (CPI 46, 51). (Thomas)
