Drogheda was given a grant of murage dated 4/12/1278.

This was in the form of:-

Wording
Simple protection, for two years, for the good men of Drogheda.
Grant to the said good men of murage for three years from Christmas, 7 Edward I.
----
The K. notifies to the men of Drogheda that he grants to them for 3 years, from Christmas, a. r. 7, the following customs to enable them to inclose their vill, namely:-
from each ship laden with timber, bark, or brushwood for sale, entering or leaving, 12d.;
each quarter of wheat brought by water or land for sale, 1/4d.;
2 quarters of rye, barley, or oats, so brough, 1/4d.;
1,000 bundles of brushwood, 2d.;
each boat laden with timber, brushwood, or bark, entering or leaving the port, 2d.;
each hogshead of wine, laden or unladen at the vill for sale, 2d.;
each hundred of salt sold, 4d.;
each last of herrings sold, 2d.;
each horse or mare, ox or cow sold, 1/2d.;
each horse or mare skin, ox or cow sold there, fresh, salted or tanned, 1/4d.;
each cart carrying fish for sale, 2d.;
each new cart coming there for sale, 1/4d.;
10 fleeces sold, 1/2d.;
200 sheep or hogs sold, 1d.;
each hundred skins of lambs, sheep, goats, or rabbit for sale, 1/2d.;
each timber of squirrels or grey fur, 1/2d.;
each hundred avoirdupois 1d.;
each seam of garlic for sale, 1/2d.;
each millstone, 1d.;
each thousand of onions for sale, 1/2d.;
each thousand laths {latae}, 1d.;
each sack of wool for sale, 4d.;
1/2 sack of wool, 2d.;
each dicker of hides for sale, 1d.;
each dozen of cordwain for sale, 2d.;
each dozen of basil for sale, 1d.;
each hogshead of pitch or cinders for sale, 1/2d.;
each quintal of any weighed merchandise, except iron, 1d.;
each hundred of bordi for sale, 1d.;
each hogshead of honey for sale, 2d.;
each hundred of mulvels for sale, 1d.;
each wey of cheese, butter, and tallow for sale, 1d.;
each jar of pitch for sale, 1/4d.;
each dozen lusseli of yarn for ropes, 1/2d.;
each assisa of woad, 1d.;
each cartload of lead for sale, 3d.;
each 1,000 floci or ligei, 2d.;
each truss of cloth brought by by water, 3d.;
each seam of cloth for sale, 1/2d.;
each hundred ells of linen cloth and canvas for sale, 1d.;
each ship carrying 100 hogshead of wine for sale, 12d.;
other ships, larger or small freighted with other merchandise, more or less according to that proportion.

murage was granted in 1234 to both towns and subsequently, jointly or individually, in 1240, 1243, 1278, 1295, 1296. (Thomas)
Virtually identical to Youghal grant of 1275 except for the insertion of a duty on new carts.
