In 1328, by patent-roll, 20 Edward II. we find that £20 were granted to Thomas de Wyncestre, constable of the castle, John Le Blound, Mayor, and Henry de Troy, for repairing the walls and houses of Limerick. (Fitzgerald and M'Gregor)
Problematic for several reasons 1. In 1328 Edward II was dead. 20 Edw II is 1326-7. 2. Nothing like this in Circle. 3. Nothing like this in English patent rolls. 4. The entry is not that of a patent letter enrolment but more like a Pipe Roll, certainly seems Exchequer entry rather Chancery.
