In consideration of the king's affection for the city and citizens and commonalty of Norwich, and of their good bearing towards him, the king, of special grace, has granted to the aid citizens the following liberties:

the mayor, sheriff, citizens and commonalty may make their profit of all gates, bridges and wastes on land or water within the said limits in aid of the repairing of the gates and walls of the city;
