Considering the robberies, extortions and oppressions sustained by the sovereign and commons of the town of Kilkenny sustain , GRANT to them for 20 years of customs from merchandise coming to that town for sale, according to the form and effect of letters patent dated 28 Jan. 2 Hen. IV made concerning this; and that an account of the same shall be rendered before two burgesses elected annually to this by the sovereign and commons of that town, and not elsewhere; with proviso that the said customs shall be expended upon the repair of the walls, bridge and pavements of the town.

'A Murage, Pontage, and Pavage Grant was made by letters patent, of the 28th January, 2 Henry IV., for 20 years; and these customs were further granted for 20 years to the sovereign and commons of the town of Kilkenny, by letters patent, dated 20th September, 7 Henry V.
