Hereford petitioned for a grant of murage in {1326}.

Nature of request: {Petition in 3 parts, the first request appearing to be struck-through:}
1) The citizens request a grant of pavage to pave and repair the roads in the city.
2) The citizens request a grant of stone from the forest of Haye for the repair of the walls and for paving.
3) The citizens request the grant of 5 oaks from the forest of Hay for the repair of the 5 gates of the city.
Endorsement: {On face:}1) {None}.
2) Let it be done until All Saints.
3) The king has granted this.

The petition dates to 1326 as the third part of the petition was answered by an order to Joan de Bohun to supply the oaks for the repair of the gate on 20 April 1326 (CCR 1323-7, p.469). (National Archive note)
