Carmarthen (Kermerdyn) was given a grant of murage dated 8/5/1415.
This was in the form of:-
Wording
Grant for five years to the mayor and commonalty of the town of Kermerdyn in South Wales of the farm of the town, amounting to 20l. yearly, in aid of the enclosure of the town; as the king understands that the walls have been razed by the Welsh rebels, and the inhabitants are robbed at night for lack of enclosure, and the mayor and commonalty are too poor to enclose the town without aid.
Granted by Henry V. (Regnal year 3). Granted at Westminster.
