Chichester (Cicestre) was given a grant of murage dated 6/5/1369.

Grant to the mayor, bailiffs and good men of the king's city of Cicestre of murage for ten years, to be taken by the hands of the bailiffs; so that the same be applied only in the enclosure of the walls by view and testimony of the dean of the cathedral church of Cicestre or his deputy, and of the mayor and two other of the good men of the city.
