OVERTON / OWRTYN 3373 3418. Borough 1292. In Maelor hundred or Maelor Saesneg. Town appears to have been planned in the late thirteenth century. Soon after Overton was granted borough status in 1292, it was seriously damaged during a Welsh attack.
