Youghal (li Hyochil) was given a grant of murage dated 24/6/1275.

This was in the form of:-

Grant to the good men of Thomas de Clare of li Hyochil in Ireland, at the instance of the said Thomas, their lord, of murage for seven years from Michaelmas, 3 Edward I

Grant to the tenants of Thomas de Clare, at his instance, for 7 years, from Michaelmas, a. r. 3, of the following customs to enable them to inclose their vill of Youghal {li Hyochil}, and repair its walls, namely:-
From each ship laden with timber, bark, or brushwood for sale, entering or leaving, 12d.;
each quarter of corn brought by sea or land, 1/4d.;
2 quarters of rye, barley, or oats, 1/4d.;
each thousand of brushwood, 2d.;
each boat laden with timber, brushwood, or bark, 2d.;
each hogshead of wine, laden or unladen in the vill, 2d.;
each hundred of salt sold there, 4d.;
each last of herrings sold there, 2d.;
each horse, mare, ox, or cow sold there, 1/2d.;
each skin of a horse, mare, ox, or cow sold there, fresh, salted or tanned, 1/4d.;
10 fleeces sold there, 1/2d.;
200 sheep or hog sold there, 1d.;
each hundred of lambs, sheep, goats, or rabbit skins, 1/2d.;
each timber of squirrels or badger skins, 1/2d.;
each hundred of merchandise sold by weight, 1d.;
each seam of garlic, 1/2d.;
each mill stone, 1d.;
each thousand of onions, 1/2d.;
each thousand laths, 1d.;
each sack of wool, 4d.;
half a sack of wool, 2d.;
each dicker of hides, 1d.;
each dozen of Cordovan leather, 2d.;
each dozen of fullers mills, 1d.;
each hogshead of pitch or cinders, 1/2d.;
each quintal of any weighed merchandise, except iron, 1d.;
each hundred of boards, 1d.;
each hogshead of honey, 2d.;
each hundred of mulvels, 1d.;
each weigh of cheese, butter, and tallow, 1d.;
each seam of pitch, 1/4d.;
each dozen lusseli of yarn for ropes, 1/2d.;
each assize of woad, 1d.;
each cartload of lead, 3d.;
each thousand floci or ligei, 2d.;
each truss of cloth brought by by water, 3d.;
each one horse burden of cloth, 1/2d.;
each hundred ells of linen cloth and canvas, 1d.;
each ship carrying on freight 100 hogshead of wine, 12d.;
other ships, larger or smaller, carrying merchandise, more or less in the above proportion.
Mandate that these customs be taken for 7 years, and then cease. Westminster. {Pat., 3 Edw. I., m. 17.}
