Worcester was given a grant of murage dated 26/3/1270.

This was in the form of:-

Grant to the bailiffs, burgesses and other men of Worcester, in aid of the closing of their town and for the repair of the bridge thereof, lately destroyed by Edward the king's son and others, of murage for three years from Easter.

Granted by Henry III. (Regnal year 54). Granted at Westminster.
