Ratification of a grant which Edward the king's son made by letters patent, at the instance of G. de Clare, earl of Gloucester and Hertford, to the earl's citizens of Kylkenny, that they may take murage for three years to fortify their town, as the neighbouring cities of those parts have been accustomed to take.

The K. ratifies and accepts the murage granted for 3 years at the instance of G{ilbert} de Clare, Earl of Gloucester and Hertford, by Edward, the K's eldest son, by his letters patent, to the men of Kilkenny, to fortify their city. Northampton. {Pat., 50 Hen. III., m. 16.}
