Worcester was given a grant of murage dated 26/11/1459.

Grant to John Campyon and Richard Collewyk, bailiffs of Worcester, and the citizens thereof of all the stones of the bridge of Beaudeley and all broken stones of the walls of Worcester castle for the repair and fortifications of the wall, bridge and gates of Worcester; on their petition shewing that the said walls, bridge and gates are so in ruin that a few ill disposed persons could freely enter and have so done so in the days last past.

It (Bewdley Bridge) was at least partly built of stone, and must have been destroyed about 1459, when the town was taken by the Lancastrians, for the stones were then granted to her old enemy Worcester for the repair of walls, gates and bridge there. (Pat. 38 Hen. VI, pt. i, m. 20)
