Comments
'Polinges' is not identified by Bémont. A Chateaux Polinge exist in France but near Geneva (Savoy) and a town Palinges is in Saône-et-Loire. Neither can be this. Polinge is a village and hundred in Sussex (now Poling) and a Sir Michael de Polinges is recorded in 1299 (London letter book C f. xxxvii b). Nothing in the list of bastides seems close to Polinges (http://www.abelard.org/france/bastides.php#bastide_list). This must be a Gascony bastide, presumably founded by Sir Michael Polinges but where and under what modern name?
