Sordes (Sordua) was given a grant of murage dated 4/1/1280.

Pro abbate de Sordua. - Rex magistro Ade de Norff., constabidario suo Burdegale, salutem. Cum celebris memorie dominus Henricus rex, pater noster, dudum teneretur dilecto nobis in Christo abbati de Sordua in centum marcis, pro dampnis que quondam sustinuit in guerra Vasconie, de quibus prefalo abbati quinquaginta marce persolvuntur, nos, eidem abbati graciam facere volentes specialem, concessimus ei quinguaginta marcas pro predictis quinquaginta marcis, habendas de dono nostro ad clausuram ville de Sordua. Et ideo vobis mandamus quod eidem abbati easdem quinquaginta marcas liberari faciatis, habendas in forma predicta; et nos vobis inde debitam allocacionem habere faciemus. T.
