TOTNES 2802 605. Borough c.1018 (BF, p. 99). Mint Edmund/Edgar-1042, 1066-1135. 1334 Subsidy £83.83. A commercial centre from the tenth century. Borough in Domesday Book. A separate borough was recorded at Little Totnes in 1326. By 1189, Totnes was divided into Little Totnes and Great Totnes.
