the earliest known murage grant of 1292 for 7 years (CDI III 1015) was typical for that period and appears to have been renewed (Bradley 48, quoting Pipe Roll in Rep DK 1906/38, 92) (Thomas)
In what way is something entered on the Pipe Roll a typical murage grant (always issued as patent letters), although this is supposed to be evidence of renewal, rather than evidence of a grant.
