CONFIRMATION of a grant dated 5 {sic} Feb. 1455 of £6 p.a. to the city of Dublin for 40 years. The money is to be paid to John Bennett, Philip Bellew, William Grampe and James Power, citizens of Dublin, to be expended by supervision of two citizens who have been mayors of Dublin upon the repair and maintenance of the walls and gates, now in a ruinous condition.

Thomas Fitz-Maurice, Earl of Kildare, Justiciary in Ireland for Henry VI.:Confirmation of royal grant, made on the sixth of February, 1454-5, of six pounds annually to the city during the ensuing forty years. The money is to be paid to John Bennett, Philip Bellew, William Grampe, and James Power, citizens of Dublin, to be expended under the supervision of two citizens, who have been Mayors of
Dublin, on the repairs and maintenance of the walls and gates, now in a ruinous condition.

A very similar grant made the next year may have been to clarify and/or confirm this grant. It seems unlikely this second grant was an additional remission and it can be assumed this grant was suspended.
