By letters patent dated 24 Nov. 15 Ric. II, that K. granted to the sovereign, bailiffs and commons of the town of New Ross that they might receive certain customs for 20 years for the purpose of enclosing and paving the town and for its defence against the Irish. At their petition , the K. has pardoned them for continuing to receive 2d from the said customs until now without licence. GRANT to them of the same customs for a term of 20 years from now.
