Dublin was given a grant of murage dated 14/6/1485.

This is a grant which may have been used for walls but could have been used for other civic improvements.

Wording
Grant to the mayor, bailiffs, commonalty and citizens of the king's city and chamber of Dublin in Ireland that the mayor with the recorder shall be justices to hear and determine all the felonies and other offences committed within the said city and the suburbs and franchises of the same, and that they shall have the king's gaol within the city and the mayor and recorder shall be justices to deliver it; and pardon to them for 60 years, for the pavage and murage of the city, of 49l. 6s. 8d. yearly, parcel of the 200 marks which they are bound to render yearly to the king at the exchequer of Ireland for the fee-farm of the city.

Grant to Mayor, Bailiffs, commonalty and citizens of the King's city and chamber of Dublin, in his land of Ireland under such incorporation or style as they may be designated by in letters patent from any of his Majesty's progenitors: The Mayor and Recorder for the time being are to be Justices of Oyer and Terminer within the city, suburbs and franchises, on land, sea and fresh water. The Mayor, Bailiffs, commonalty and citizens are to have charge of the King's gaol within the city, suburbs and franchises with the custody of all felons and malefactors; the Mayor and Recorder are to be Justices for gaol delivery. The King also grants to the Mayor, Bailiffs, and commonalty, out of the two hundred marks of the yearly rent of the city, the sum of forty-nine pounds six shillings and eight pence, per annum, during the ensuing sixty years, to be expended on the repairs, construction, and emendation of the walls and pavements of Dublin.
