Shrewsbury was given a grant of murage dated 1/3/1256.

Extension to the bailiffs and good men of Shrewsbury of the murage, granted to them for three years, for another three years from the first Sunday in Lent, 40 Henry III.

Comments
The previous grants were for 2 years (starting 22 Feb) extended for a year from All Saints (i.e. ending 31 Oct, 1255). If the burgesses took the original grant and added the years extension to its original due end (rather than that stated in the extension) then this was three years without a significant gap.
