One of Mike Salter's fine county gazetteers, although the histories and descriptions can come from elderly sources. This is a pretty comprehensive guide to the castles of Warwickshire. The detail on individual sites is good, although some minor sites are just listed. The book is well illustrated and the plan and diagrams are very good, but is let down by a an ugly presentation and tendency for map references to be inaccurate. In need of being reissued.
